The 23rd edition of the Casablanca International Book Fair will be hosting Central African countries as guests of Honor. This 11-day event will be held from February 9-19 and feature more than 700 publishers, from 24 countries..
Minister of Culture, Mohamed Amin Sbihi, stated at a press conference that SIEL remains a very important international book fair saying, “ SIEL represents a distinguished cultural station, and its importance is crystallized in the large number of publishing houses that participate.”
Sbihi continued his comments on SIEL explaining that, ‘this edition will welcome 11 countries in the Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS), as guests of honor, in accordance with the visits of King Mohammed VI to many African countries.
‘’This strategic choice will strongly strengthen the partnerships of Morocco and other African continent countries,’’ Said Sbihi.
SIEL 2017 is not only an opportunity for publishers to market their books, it is also a large forum for cultures to openly discuss and debate publishing works on current issues and events.
