Ministry of Antiquities
Cairo - MENA

Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities (SCA) Mostafa Amin affirmed that the Ministry of Antiquities is ready to renovate parts that have been damaged in the terror attack that targeted El Boutroseya Coptic Orthodox Church this morning.

In statements to MENA on Sunday, Amin condemned this heinous incident, stressing that it will increase the Egyptians' determination to continue combating terrorism.

Meanwhile, he noted that El Boutroseya Church is not listed as an antiquity in the register of Islamic and Coptic antiquities.

At least 26 people were killed, while 49 others were injured in an explosion that targeted the Boutrosiya Church which is adjacent to the St. Mark Coptic Orthodox Cathedral in Abbassiya in Cairo.
