Awqaf Minister Mohamed Mokhtar held on Thursday an urgent meeting with scholars of al Azhar and Awqaf Ministry.
In a statement following the meeting, Gomaa reiterated support for President Abdel Fattah El Sisi as well as the Egyptian army and police in their fight against terrorism.
Gomaa said all religious institutions in Egypt reject takfiri thoughts of the terrorist Muslim Brotherhood group.
Egypt's judges are independent and no one has authority over them, he said, praising efforts exerted by Mufti Shawqi Allam and Azhar Grand Imam Ahmed el Tayyeb to face terrorism.
Gomaa hailed cooperation among Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and all Arab countries to uproot terror
