Al-Azhar
Cairo - MENA

Al Azhar has slammed China's authorities for banning Muslim Uighur minority in East Turkestan from fasting during the holy month of Ramadan.

In a statement on Friday, Azhar rejected all forms of persecution against Muslim Uighur in China.

Al Azhar called on the Chinese authorities to cease all violations.

Azhar, the top Sunni seat worldwide, also called on the United Nations and International organizations and human rights groups to immediately intervene to stop such violations that contradict with international norms and tradition.
