The Kuwaiti voluntary 'Badder' campaign announced opening the "illuminated" city project next Saturday in Mishref area as part of the country's national celebrations.
The festivity will be held under patronage of His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah and to be inaugurated by Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Sheikh Salman Al-Humoud Al-Sabah, said Mubarak Al-Najadah, head of the campaign.
Badder (Arabic for 'make an initiative') aims at rallying up public honoring for His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah on the occasion of naming him 'Humanitarian Leader' by the UN.
The idea of the illuminated city came to mind over a month ago, with partial operation of 40 percent of the city's power taking place today, Al-Najadah said, adding that recreational, cultural and social activities will also take place.
