Bahraini Library's director appraises local literature

The Director of the National Library in the Shaikh Isa Cultural Centre Dr. Mansour Sarhan said that the preceding year (2014) witnessed a quantitative and qualitative increase in local intellectual production.
72 books had been printed and published last year that covered various areas of knowledge. Dr. Sarhan said that 36 Bahrain authors including 15 women contributed to local publications which reflects women's contributions in the local literary scene. He added that there were 20 anthologies, novels and literature books in 2014.
