Responding to the national mourning announced by Egypt's presidency, the Bibliotheca Alexandrina's Arts Centre has announced that it suspended all artistic activities starting Sunday 15 February.
The activities will resume in the evening on Saturday 21 February.
The BA management confirmed that several of the activities that were planned for the upcoming days will be postponed to a later date, yet to be announced. The ticket holders can either reimburse them or use them on the new dates for the postponed events.
President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi declared on Sunday a week of mourning following the killing of 21 Egyptian hostages by Islamic State militants in Libya.
The migrant Coptic workers, mostly from impoverished villages in Upper Egypt, were kidnapped between late December and early January in the Libyan city of Sirte.
