Abu Dhabi - WAM

The Community Police Department at the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters, GHQ, has showcased its volunteering experience in police work, as a part of the sixth Emirates Volunteering Conference, which was held in conjunction with the Abu Dhabi Social Responsibility Forum.
The conference took place at the Emirates Centre for Strategic Studies and Research (ECSSR) in Abu Dhabi, and was attended by 44 government and private institutions.
Lt. Colonel Mubarak bin Muhairom, Head of the Department of Community Police, noted that volunteer work is a new kind of nobility and a worthy act of philanthropy, which aims to serve the various segments of society. He reiterated the unwavering and ongoing support provided by the wise leadership to promote volunteerism and encourage voluntary work among the different sectors of society particularly the youth, in addition to organising and adopting volunteering projects.
Lt. Colonel bin Muhairom said that the sixth Emirates Volunteering Conference aims to instill a culture of volunteering among the country’s youth. During the conference, the department introduced a number of police recruits who gave an honourable and distinguished image of volunteering work.
Captain Tareq Juma Al Junaibi, from the Community Police Department at Abu Dhabi Police GHQ, presented a work paper regarding the Abu Dhabi Police initiative, a first-of-its-kind initiative at the level of police departments in the U.A.E.; stressing the police leadership’s commitment to support volunteer work, in an effort to enhance security and stability of society.
During the inaugural ceremony, the Community Police Department received the "Emirates Award for Voluntary Work", as a tribute to strategic partners engaged in supporting and promoting voluntary work and social responsibility.
