Antiquities Minister Mamdouh el Damati met with visiting Czech Foreign Minister Lubomir Zaoralek on Monday to probe the possibility of organizing a temporary exhibition for Egyptian antiquities in the Czech Republic in 2019 for the first time.
The exhibition will display a number of artifacts uncovered in Abusir area of Giza and discoveries made by the Czech archaeological mission, the minister has said.
The meeting addressed archaeological cooperation between the two countries, Damati said.
For his part, Zaoralek welcomed the idea of holding an exhibition of Egyptian antiquities in Czech, saying it will shed light on discoveries by the Czech archaeological expedition in Egypt, the latest of which is unearthing the tomb of Khentkaus III, a queen in the era of the Old Kingdom (2649-2150 BC) in Abusir, and a unique boat south of "Mastaba AS 54" from the Old Kingdom age.
