Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab received a report from Antiquities Minister Mamdouh El Damaty concerning the ministry's main files.
Damaty said 20,065 artifacts were transferred to Grand Egyptian Museum.
He added that 11,504 relics were renovated among those moved to the new museum.
He also pointed out that 428 relics, smuggled and taken abroad, were recently recovered and that 2,492 stolen artifacts were seized.
The minister said that four new agreements were signed concerning prohibiting antiquities trafficking, adding that 10 new archaeological discovery were recently announced.
He also pointed out that 30 archaeological sites and 12 museums were recently developed.
