Minister of Antiquities Mamdouh Al Damati appreciated Prime Minister Sherif Ismail’s decision to renew confidence in him.
In exclusive statements to MENA on Saturday, Damati said he will continue working on antiquities projects according to the set timetable.
He added that Nicholas Reeves, the British archaeologist who believes he may have discovered the long-sought-for tomb of Nefertiti, will arrive in Cairo on September 27 to head to Luxor on Sept 28-29 accompanied by a number of officials and archaeologists to discuss his theory, adding that a press conference will be held in Cairo on October 1 to announce the visit’s outcome.
The minister also said that “Building Pyramids Era” exhibition is expected to be held on October 16 in Japan for 25 months.
He also pointed out at the great success of the “Egypt's Sunken Secrets” exhibition held in Paris especially that the French President Francois Hollande has inaugurated the exhibit.
