Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab opened on Wednesday the 48th session of Cairo International Fair, which runs from 18 March to 27.
Some 700 Egyptian, Arab and foreign companies are participating in the fair, which is held at the Cairo Fair Grounds in Nasr City under the motto "Forum for the Love of Egypt."
Accompanied by the ministers of economic group, Mahlab toured the fair and hailed the quality of the goods exhibited.
Minister of Trade and Industry Mounir Fakhry Abdel Nour said the fair would contribute to the development of trade with all countries, pointing out that the United Arab Emirates, which is the guest of honor for this year's session, erected its pavilion on 600 meters which, he said, reflected the strength of relations between the two countries.
Minister Abdel Nour asserted that Egypt's economy is passing through a stage of growth and prosperity especially after the Sharm el Sheikh economic conference, adding that the government was keen on increasing the volume of exports and investments in the country.
