GCC ministers of culture are keen on achieving cultural goals and objectives thoroughly probed in the just-concluded 20th meeting of the GCC ministers of culture, hosted by Kuwait, said GCC Secretary General Abdullatif Al-Zayani on Thursday.
In a press statement after the meeting today, he said the ministers focused in a great part on the mechanics of effectively disseminating culture among the GCC populations in such way that it would serve these populations to appreciate their common heritages.
The ministers, furthermore, agreed to set in motion approaches to further promote the unique identity of a GCC person and to prepare strategic studies regarding the establishment of GCC cultural centers that enhance that identity, said Al-Zayani.
He further said that all recommendations reached at the meeting would have to be endorsed by the GCC Council of Ministers before actual implementation.
He congratulated Kuwait on its opening of a national library, noting that it was an achievement for all GCC states and a beacon of culture for their populations.
