Tarek Tawfik, Director-General Grand Egyptian Museum Project, received on Sunday a Japanese delegation that has inspected the museum.
In statements to MENA, Tawfik said they also discussed means of boosting bilateral relations in the renovation and scientific research fields.
The Japanese delegation includes Hiroshima city's deputy head and Hiroshima University president.
Tawfik asserted the delegation's keenness to support the museum that is considered a huge joint project since 2006 in which Japan supports it financially and technically.
After its inspection tour, the delegation headed to Khufu's second solar boat in Great Pyramid of Giza which is currently witnessing renovation works.
