Saint Martin's Cathedral here is set to host an international cathedral organ festival with concerts every Thursday starting July 30, organist Stanislav Surin from Tribus Musicae, organizer of the festival, said Tuesday.
"For the first time, the festival will feature Sweden's Hans Fagius, known for a complete recording of Johann Sebastian Bach's organ opus," said Surin.
Renowned musicians from Spain, Switzerland, Norway, Sweden, Italy and Germany will also perform at the festival.
Slovak Monika Melcova, who has a good name among organists abroad, will appear at the festival with Spanish countertenor Carlos Mena.
"This unique artist has sung on the most renowned stages worldwide and is among the best countertenors of his generation," said Surin.
The festival will be concluded by a recital by German artist Stefan Kagl, who is widely considered to be an expert on Bach and Cesar Franck.
The Cathedral Organ Festival is part of the Cultural Summer and Bratislava Castle Festival.
