The Jahra governorate's historical exhibition opened Thursday at the diwan of the red fort monument in Jarha, documenting the area's most important historical events.
At the opening event, Jahra governor Fahad Al-Amir said the location was to honor the history of the governorate, adding that coinciding the opening with Kuwait's celebrations of its 54th national day, 24th anniversary of independence, and the ninth anniversary of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah was a befitting gesture.
The exhibition is a great cultural accomplishment that will help to inform people about the history of the area and significant events, said Al-mir.
The exhibition consists of pictorial and audio documents as well as miniatures showcasing the history of Jahra governorate. It is held at the famed Kuwaiti monument the red fort, a significant location that played an integral role during the Kuwaitis' victory against the Ikhwan forces at the battle of Jahra in the 1920s.
