The Khalifa International Date Palm Award, Kidpa, is participating in the UAE pavilion at the six-month Milan Expo 2015 taking place in Italy, said Abdul Wahab Zayed, Secretary-General of Kidpa.
In a statement to WAM, Mr Zayed said the award is coordinating with the National Media Council, NMC, organisers of the UAE pavilion, about its participation which will take place between 3-5 September.
Mr. Zayed noted that five thousand brochures in three languages - Arabic, English and Italian - about the award will be distributed at Milan Expo 2015 to highlight the UAE's achievements in date palm farming as part of its interest in the blessed tree as well as the relevant role of the award.
This ties in with the theme for Milan Expo 2015, Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life.
Twenty million visitors from Italy and abroad are expected to throng the expo between 1st May- 31 October 31, 2015.
