A Kuwaiti cultural official said Sunday that his country is keen on advancing cultural and civilization levels in the Arab world in accordance with well-studied visions and policies.
Bolstering cultural communication ties among Arab states is important in order to open newer cooperation prospects in various fields, Mohammad Abdulkhaleq bin Redha, superintendent of foreign cultural relations in Kuwait's National Council for Culture, Arts, and Literature (NCCAL), stated to KUNA on sidelines of a preparatory committee's meetings for the upcoming 19th meeting of Arab Culture Ministers, to be held tomorrow in the Saudi capital.
The preparatory committee addressed a number of significant subjects, including the Arab culture's comprehensive plan, Arab charter for cultural development, Arab cultural capitals, memory of the Arab World project, digital archiving of Arab heritage and updating the Council of Arab Ministers of Culture.
The committee members also discussed Arab culture TV channel project, Arab cultural days, Arabic Poetry day, Arab charter to preserve the architectural heritage, in addition to development of the supreme council of architectural heritage, Arab construction and architectural observatory, Arab League's Educational, Cultural, and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) in Jerusalem, and charter of cultural heritage protection in Arab countries, said bin Redha, also a member in the Arab culture's permanent committee.
The meeting also discussed other projects such as the e-government for Arab states' cultural heritage, establishing Arab archive for popular sayings, Arab prize for cultural creativity, governmental committee to preserve ethereal Arab culture, in addition to a study on cultural media in the Arab World, and recommendations of the symposium regarding futuristic studies in the Arab World, added the Kuwaiti official.
The 19th meeting of Arab Culture Ministers is to be inaugurated by Saudi Minister of Culture and Information Dr. Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al-Khudairi, representing Saudi King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud
Kuwait is to take part during the event along with participants of 30 countries and organization.
The participating Kuwaiti delegation is headed by Minister of Information, Minister of State for Youth Affairs Sheikh Salman Al-Sabah
