"Al-Deera Opera .. as we remain Kuwaitis," featuring a series of extraordinary theatrical opera acts, was held under auspices of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahamd Al-Jaber Al-Sabah on Sunday night, at Kuwait University's Theatre of the Late Sheikh Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah.
The participating actors and musicians offered a representation of Kuwait's milestone historical events in a theatrical, operatic performance on stage.
Kuwaiti cadres worked hard to come out with this artistic performance that lay the bedrock for future operatic works in the country, as this performance reflected professional theatrical capabilities.
Deputy Minister of Amiri Diwan Affairs Sheikh Ali Jarrah Al-Sabah told KUNA last night, following the end of the show, that this Kuwaiti operatic work is considered the first step in this artistic domain, as Kuwaitis have always proven being the most capable in all fields.
He applauded the support of His Highness the Amir for this work, expressing thanks to all participants who exerted efforts in presenting this sophisticated work of art.
Fatma Al-Amir, the Assistant Undersecretary in Amiri Diwan and Director of the Martyrs Memorial Bureau, expressed in remarks to KUNA her pride of presenting this work to the souls of Kuwaiti martyrs, during the celebrations of Kuwait national festivities.
The event organizers will present another show late on Monday, devoted for martyrs' families, as the final show will be performed on Wednesday for the public, with the contributions of Martyrs Memorial Bureau, she affirmed.
The playwright of the show Dr. Ali Al-Enizi told KUNA that efforts of Kuwaiti youth, who are fully aware of the importance of their cultural role in the society led to the success of this unprecedented threattical work.
Al-Enizi hailed the patronage of His Highness the Amir and the great support of Minister of Amiri Diwan Affairs Sheikh Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, and Deputy Amiri Diwan Affairs Sheikh Al-A-Jarrah Al-Sabah.
He praised the attendance of the Minister of Information, Minister of State for Youth Affairs Sheikh Salman Sabah Salem Al-Humoud Al-Sabah of this operatic show as he is keen in to be present in such cultural events.
The director of the show Dr. Fahad Al-Abdulmehsen said that this operatic show "gave a different taste to the national celebrations this year, as it will contribute to launching the of Opera building by next year."
