The Upper Egyptian governorate of Luxor celebrates on Tuesday the fall of sun rays on the Holy of the Holiest (God Amoun) at Karnak Temple.
The ceremony is part of the governorate's efforts to promote tourism as the city also prepares to establish the European-Egyptian cinema festival and Luxor festival for African cinema other cultural events.
A state issued by governor Mohamed Badr said the governorate is keen on promoting tourism and bringing the tourist movement to normal.
The religious complex of Karnak, in Luxor, is the largest ancient religious site in the world. It was the Vatican of its day – and four millennia after its heydays, continues to dwarf all other religious buildings.
