Developing human capital, nurturing innovation, building capacities of artists, writers and gifted persons in digital technology, and promoting the spirit of dynamism and positivity through national theatres and culture and knowledge development centres, will constitute key pillars of the roadmap for cultural knowledge development in the country, according to Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development.
''This roadmap will also seek to develop exemplary cultural ties with other countries of the world, protect and promote the Arabic language, open up and reach out to the local community, build constructive partnerships which engage all members of the community in cultural and knowledge development, '' Sheikh Nahyan said while unveiling the roadmap for the future work of his ministry during a brainstorming session for leaders and employees of the ministry.
The session, he indicated, was aimed at addressing challenges and aspirations in order to come out with a plan of action that fits the new national educational and developmental role of the ministry.
''Our meeting underscores our pride in the forward looking state leaders and their recognition of the role culture and knowledge can play in shaping the present and future of the nation,'' he added.
Sheikh Nahyan stated that working as one team, maintaining complete transparency and confidence, respecting others, and responding positively to rapid changes would be the prime determining factors in the ministry's plan of action.
