Mufti of Al Quds and Palestine Sheikh Mohamed Hussein warned of the consequences of allowing ultra-orthodox Jews to organize marches inside Al Aqsa mosque.
In a statement Monday, Sheikh Hussein said such measure would only inflame the situation and tension in the entire region.
He condemned the killing of Palestinian young man Mohamed Ghannal in Jerusalem, saying the Israelis killed him in cold blood.
Dozens of extremist Israeli settlers stormed Al Aqsa Mosque on Monday morning under the guard of the Israeli police.
Nearly 52 settlers stormed the mosque in three groups, Palestinian sources have said.
