Pope Francis asks Bishops of Benin to promote dialogue with Islam

Pope Francis of the Vatican has called on bishops to promote inter-religious dialogue, especially with Islam.

Addressing the Bishops during his visit to Nepal, Pope Francis went on to describe the country as an example of religious coexistence.

Supporting families should be priority for them, said the Pope. He also highlighted the need for them to promote education. When it comes to the role of the Church, its charitable works, he explained, reflect the mercy of Jesus, making them much more than just social assistance.

He gave a gift to every bishop and one of them thanked him in Spanish.
