Cultural and ideological sectors should carefully study and diligently implement policies of the CPC Central Committee, said a leader from the Communist Party of China (CPC).
Liu Yunshan, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, has held three forums in Beijing on promoting China's cultural, publicity and ideological sectors in recent days, according to a circular issued after the forums on Thursday.
Representatives from CPC departments, local governments as well as workers in relevant fields attended and spoke at the forums.
The participants believe development of the country's cultural sector should put the people at its center. Scientific systems for achievement evaluation and candid cultural criticism are also needed, according to the circular.
They also agreed that efforts should be made to better explain the events happening in China, promote China's ideas and spirits and boost the country's cultural soft power.
Liu listened to the participants' opinions and stressed publicity and cultural work should encourage more diversified opinions, listen to the public's voices and put heads together to solve problems.
He also called on workers in relevant fields to carefully study the spirit of the CPC Central Committee and the speeches made by Xi Jinping, general secretary of the CPC Central Committee, to grasp the essence of the requirements put forward for such works.
He also urged detailed and specific plans to carry out such requirements and great exertions to practice them.
