President Abdel Fattah El Sisi met Monday with Osama Al Azhari, member of the Specialized Council for Society Development, to discuss ongoing efforts to correct the religious discourse in Egypt.
Presidential spokesman Alaa Youssef said that the meeting tackled the president's assignments about paying attention to the intellectual building of the Muslim personality in a way that allows the formation of a moderate mentality which is open to others.
President Sisi also reviewed the important role of Al Azhar and senior scholars to disseminate the moderate teachings of Islam and correct the religious discourse in mosques and curricula.
