The 2012 edition of the International World Film Festival of Ankara is scheduled to screen feature-length productions directed by two Iranian filmmakers. Amir Hossein Saqafi’s Death is My Profession and Naqi Nemati’s Three and a Half will be presented at the ‘World Cinema’ section of the festival. Saqafi’s film recounts the story of three workers who face hardships in providing for their families and end up trying to sell stolen high-voltage power lines. The feature-length film was also screened at the 2011 edition of the Mumbai Film Festival in India. Three and a Half narrates the story of three female convicts who hatch a scheme to escape the country while on temporary leave from prison. The film was also screened at the 2011 edition of Torino International Film festival (TFF) as Iran's only representative to compete at the 29th edition of the Italian event. Nemati has received several international awards such as the 2008 Special Jury Prize of the Bangkok International Film Festival for his Those Three. He has also won the Best Camera Award of the Asian Pacific Film Festival. The 23rd International World Film Festival of Ankara kicked off on March 16 and will run until March 22, 2012.
