The Ministry of Culture, Youth and Community Development and two of its employees have won five of the Stevie Awards, the world's premier business award competitions which recognise corporate and individual accomplishments and contributions.
Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development, said Afra Al Saberi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Community Development, and Ahmed Al Hadabi, Director of Libraries at the Ministry, in the categories of CEO and leading change, respectively, while the ministry itself won three awards in the categories of government public relations and communications as well as videos and events.
He added that excellence has become an established corporate tradition for all the employees of the ministry.
"Competing for these awards with a large number of organisations around the world reflects the current advanced stature of the UAE as well as its future stature in the race for excellence in the area of leadership and internationally effective organisation. It is also a natural result of the ministry's team spirit and strategic goals which underscore the need for sustainability of services as well as its corporate values of cultural and community responsibility." Urging all the ministry's staff to make more efforts to implement qualitative strategic initiatives in line with the UAE Vision 2021, Sheikh Nahyan further said that the ministry's achievement was made possible thanks to the support extended by the UAE leadership, namely President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
