The 14th Korea-Middle East Cooperation Forum kicked off on Tuesday in Seoul under the theme "Towards a New Vision of Korea-Middle East Cooperation".
The forum, held under the auspices of the South Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs, is set to discuss several important issues in addition to the various fields of cooperation between both Arab and south Korean sides.
A raft of experts, political scholars and officials from Egypt, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Libya, Sudan, Morocco as well as Yemen, and South Korea are taking part in the event.
Sessions of the forum are scheduled to include three main axes, one in the political field, entitled "Ending conflicts and Building Peace", another in the economic field supped "Expanding Prospects of Economic Cooperation", while the other is in the social field entitled "Human Development: Challenges and Strategies".
The Korea-Middle East Cooperation Forum started its work in Cairo in 2003 and is held annually in Korea or in one of the Arab countries alternately. It discusses various issues related to the Middle East and means of enhancing joint cooperation and bilateral relations.
