Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Secretary General of Arab League Ahmed Abul Gheit

Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Secretary General of Arab League Ahmed Abul Gheit discussed on Tuesday the overall Arab situation, the league's role in reuniting Arabs and challenges facing Arab countries.

Spokesman for the pan-Arab body Mahmoud Afifi said in a statement the AL chief listened to the Saudi king's vision and evaluation of the current situation and the league's role in facing current challenges.

The Saudi king asserted the kingdom's full support to Abul Gheit's efforts and role to have the league play a more effective role in the various fields of joint Arab action.

The AL chief expressed appreciation to role played by Saudi Arabia in the Arab system.

Abul Gheit arrived here Monday on a two-day visit to the kingdom. 

King Salman received Abul Gheit and his accompanying delegation in the presence of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Naif.
