British Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson arrived Thursday in Benghazi for a meeting with Commander of the Libyan army General Khalifa Haftar.
During his stay, Johnson visited western cities of Libya and held a number of meetings with members of the Libyan government including Libyan Unity Government Prime Minister Fayez Sarraj.
The British secretary announced that the UK has plans to send financial aid worth £9 million to Libya to fight terrorism and human trafficking.
Johnson referred to Libya as “the front line for many challenges which, left unchecked, can pose problems to us in the UK – particularly illegal migration and the threat from terrorism”.
