Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry and Mohamed Ibn Chambas, the UN envoy to Darfur, have met in New York on the fringe of the 69th session of the UN General Assembly.
Shoukry voiced Egypt's full support for efforts by the UN envoy to achieve peace in Darfur, said Foreign Ministry spokesman Badr Abdel-Aati Saturday.
The foreign minister still said Egypt is concerned about the deteriorating security and humanitarian situation in Darfur over more than 11 years of conflict, Abdel-Aati noted.
