Egypt's Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry on Saturday met with his Libyan counterpart Mohammed al Dairi to discuss coordination to resolve the Libyan crisis.
They held the talks on the sidelines of the 25th session of the AU summit in Johannesburg.
In statements on Saturday, Egypt's foreign ministry said that the two diplomats stressed the importance of clear support to the Libyan government by the African Union and the International Contact Group for Libya.
The Libyan diplomat expressed thanks to Egypt for supporting his country diplomatically and politically, the statement noted.
