The Egyptian Armed Forces on Thursday received three Rafale fighters from France, the second batch in a deal signed between Cairo and Paris in February 2015.
Under the $5.6 billion deal, Cairo will purchase 24 Rafale multi-role combat jets and a frigate.
The first batch of three Rafale fighters was delivered in July 2015.
In a ceremony attended by Egyptian and French delegations, the new aircraft flew over Cairo, Giza and the 6th of October City.
A military source said the fighters represent progress in the Armed Forces' ability to enhance efforts to maintain security and stability in the Middle East.
