Minister of Foreign and Expatriate Affairs, Ayman Safadi, Monday, met with Special Representative of the Secretary-General for the United Nations Assistance Mission in Iraq, Jan Kubis and discussed with him the latest developments in the Iraqi arena.
Safadi was briefed by Kubis on exerted efforts implemented by the UN to restore security and stability in the neighboring country, as well as issues related to the fight against Daesh terrorist group, namely, in Mosul.
The meeting touched on delivering humanitarian aid to civilians in Mosul, in addition to reaching a national reconciliation through a political process.
Safadi voiced Jordan’s support to Iraq in its war against terrorism, the national reconciliation and the role carried out by the UN in this regard.
