Minister of Foreign Affairs, Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, met today former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Tony Blair, as part of his visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Shaikh Khalid praised the former Prime Minister for his role and efforts in supporting and strengthening the friendly relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United Kingdom, which is witnessing great progress and prosperity in all fields to meet the aspirations of the two countries and achieve their common interests, wishing him continuous success.
Mr. Blair expressed pride in meeting the Foreign Minister, affirming his keenness to continue the joint communication to exchange views on the issues of the region and all issues of common concern, praising the role of the Kingdom of Bahrain in enhancing the security and stability of the region and its concrete efforts in combating terrorism, wishing the Kingdom of Bahrain further progress and prosperity.
A number of regional issues of common concern were also discussed during the meeting.
