The Egyptian committee concerned with Libya under Armed Forces Chief of Staff Mahmoud Hegazy held meetings with two Libyan delegations representing Cyrenaica and Misurata cities.
In a statement on Thursday, the Egyptian Armed Forces said the meetings were separately held with with the two delegations over three days and tackled means of achieving national reconciliation in Libya.
Participants in the meetings stressed the importance of maintaining Libya's security and stability and stopping bloodshed in the country.
They also announced their support for state institutions in Libya and rejected any interference in its domestic affairs, in addition to condemning all forms of extremism and terrorism.
Furthermore, the Libyan delegations reiterated commitment to building a civil democratic state based on the peaceful transfer of power and acceptance of the other.
They urged the Libyan media outlets to stop incitement campaigns in a bid to reach the long-awaited national reconciliation.
Also, they denounced all forms of terrorism and extremism, and called for cracking down on militias and organized crime groups in the country.
