Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mohammad Javad Zarif arrived in Islamabad today for a day-long visit.
Upon arriving, the Iranian minister met Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and discussed Pakistan-Iran bilateral relations and enhancing cooperation in different fields, Geo TV reported on Thursday.
Sources said the two sides also discussed matters relating to the Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline project.
The completion of the Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline project will help Pakistan overcome its energy shortage, Prime Minister Sharif was quoted as saying.
Sources said the two sides also discussed matters pertaining to regional stability and the peace process in Afghanistan.
