Iraqi Parliament Speaker Salim Al Jabouri met here Thursday with World Bank Special Representative for Iraq Robert Bou Jaoude.
Talks during the meeting dealt with the economic situation in Iraq and the World Bank's role in providing support for reconstructing liberated areas in the country.
The World Bank announced last December that it agreed to give loans totaling $1.200 billion to help Baghdad in controlling public finances and improve the efficiency of the energy sector and offset the decline in oil prices and the escalating costs of security conditions.
