Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al Abadi met Monday with German Defense Minister Ursula von der Leyen and her accompanying delegation.
During the meeting, Abadi underlined the importance of supporting Iraq in its war against terrorism, especially in field of training and providing weapons.
The two sides also discussed ways of boosting bilateral cooperation in security and military spheres.
The meeting also took up the latest developments in the region along with the political, security and financial challenges which are confronting Iraq.
The German minister renewed support to Iraq in its war against terrorism. She also hailed Iraq's role in fighting Daesh terrorist group.
