Iraqi PM meets UN official

Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi met here today with the United Nations Special Rapporteur on the Human Rights of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) Chaloka Beyani.

During the meeting, they discussed the IDPs' conditions and the ways to international organisations' means to assist them in addition to the cooperation between the Iraqi government and these organizations to provide the IDPs' needs.

Abadi stressed the importance of the role of United Nations organizations to help the IDPs, adding that the increasing numbers of IDPs makes it necessary to approach international organisations for assistance.

For his part,Beyani praised the efforts of the Iraqi government in aiding IDPs.
