Jordanian King Abdullah II and Bishop of the Coptic Orthodox Patriarchate in Jerusalem Anba Antonious discussed means of encouraging visits by the followers of the Patriarchate to Jerusalem's holy sites.
The talks targeted visits by the Patriarchate followers in Iraq, Syria, Kuwait and the Near East to Al Quds (occupied Jerusalem) and places of Christian pilgrimage in Jordan, particularly in Al-Maghtas.
During the meeting, the Jordanian King greeted Anba Antonious on appointing him as the Bishop of the Coptic Orthodox Patriarchate in Jerusalem wishing him success.
Anba Antonious, for his part, voiced appreciation for the great role played by King Abdullah II in paying attention to the sanctities in Jerusalem and preserving the identity of Al Quds.
Meanwhile, he hailed the efforts exerted by Jordan in presenting a model of mutual coexistence and brotherhood between Muslims and Christians in the country.
