Jordan's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs Nasser Judeh and European Commissioner for Migration, Home Affairs and Citizenship Dimitri Avramopoulos, Wednesday discussed cooperation and developments in the region, Petra News Agency reported.
Both officials discussed joint programs and arrangements for facilitating visas entry to the European Union (EU) and the migration and mobility partnership between the EU and Jordan which was signed during the meeting of Justice and Home Affairs Ministers in Luxembourg last year.
Also, they discussed the latest developments in the Syrian, Iraqi, Libyan and Yemeni arenas while stressing the importance of reaching a political solution.
Moreover, Judeh reviewed the ramifications of these developments on Jordan in light of the enormous numbers of Syrian refugees they had hosted and the pressure it posed on all of Jordan's sectors.
Avramopoulos expressed the EU’s appreciation for Jordan's key role in the region.
He said the EU was confident about its partnership with Jordan and looked forward to more cooperation.
