Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab inspected Monday construction work at the New Assiut Barrages in Egypt (the hydroelectric station).
The irrigation minister, who accompanied Mahlab during the inspection, pointed out that 64.20 % of the construction work of the project has been finalized.
The barrage will save 32 megawatts of electricity, with a value of about 100 million pounds, he added.
The project is considered one of the biggest engineering projects currently being implemented, he said.
The project will be finalized in March, 2017, he noted.
