A ministerial meeting was held Thursday to discuss the government's plan to put the new social health insurance law into force.
The meeting was presided over by Health Minister Ahmed Emad el Din Rady and attended by the ministers of planning, finance, manpower, education, legal affairs and House of Representatives and social solidarity.
During the meeting, Rady said the new law guarantees every citizen's right to receive high quality medical service.
The law would help the state achieve a new level of social equality and sustainable development in the health sector, the minister said.
The ministers agreed on forming working groups from the ministries concerned to discuss financial resources for the service.
Another working group was agreed to be assigned for pricing the health services.
According to the discussions, the law will be applied in less than five years. The first stage of the insurance system will be applied to the governorates of Suez, Port Said, Ismailia, North and South Sinai.
