Pope Tawadros II of Alexandria and Patriarch of St. Mark Diocese paid a visit on Friday to the headquarters of the Coptic Catholic Patriarchate to greet Patriarch Ibrahim Ishak on Christmas.
The pontiff was accompanied by a delegation grouping a number of Christian clergy men.
The Coptic Catholic, Greek Catholic, Roman Catholic, Assyrian, Maronite, Caledonian and Episcopal Churches in Egypt celebrate Christmas on December 25.
Coptic Orthodox Christians – who comprise 90 percent of Egypt's Christians – will break their 43-day fast and celebrate Christmas on January 7.
