His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa met today with British Premier Theresa May on the sidelines of his private visit to the United Kingdom.
HRH the Prime Minister lauded deep-rooted historic relations between both countries stressing the need to further promote them at all levels. He praised growing cooperation between the two friendly countries in political, economic and military fields. He hailed in this respect the role of the Bahraini-British work group which regularly holds two meetings every year.
HRH the Premier lauded concordance of visions on overall international issues, including mainly the need for coordination to counter violence and terrorism which are threatening global security and stability.
HRH the Prime Minister expressed thanks and appreciation for the good welcome and hospitality accorded to him during his visit to the UK which reflects strong ties binding both countries and the leaderships' keenness to further cement them.
The British Prime Minister hailed the visit of HRH the Premier and his accompanying delegation to attend the graduation ceremony of the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. She congratulated him on the graduation of his granddaughter Shaikha Aisha bint Rashid bin Khalifa Al Khalifa as the first Bahraini girl to graduate from the academy.
HRH the Premier and his British counterpart reviewed the outcome of the positive participation of the British Prime Minister in the GCC-British Summit which was hosted by Bahrain from December 6 to 7 last year. They wished every success to the GCC-British meeting that will be hosted by the UK in November.
