Prime Minister Sherif Ismail received here on Tuesday US Special Envoy and Coordinator for International Energy Affairs Amos J Hochstein.
US Ambassador to Egypt Stephen Beecroft attended the meeting.
Ismail underlined Egypt's keenness on continued efforts with all the international partners in the field of oil and gas exploration. Egypt is looking forward to reaching more cooperation and coordination with the US side in the energy sector and training programs, he said.
The premier referred to the government's platform which gives prominence to the energy sector and the need to provide necessary electricity to the industrial, service and housing sectors.
The US official said his country is looking forward to pumping more investments into oil and gas exploration in the Mediterranean and the Nile Delta region in Egypt.
He said he will hold meetings during his visit to Egypt with the ministers of petroleum and electricity to coordinate efforts and to reach the aspired cooperation between the two sides in the fields of electricity and energy.
