Russian President Vladimir Putin met Tuesday with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani who started an official visit to Moscow yesterday.During the meeting, the two leaders reviewed bilateral relations between the two countries and aspects of expanding joint commercial, economic and investment ties. They also discussed the latest regional and international developments.
In a statement issued after the meeting, Moscow and Tehran expressed their support for a peaceful settlement to the six-year-old Syrian conflict based on principles included in Security Council Resolution 2254.
