HE Qatar's Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Khalid bin Mohammed Al Attiyah has met with the UN Secretary-General's Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura on the sidelines of the 51st Munich Security Conference, currently in session in the German city of Munich.
Talks during the meeting tackled the latest developments of the Syrian crisis. HE the Foreign Minister underlined Qatar's firm position towards finding a political solution to the crisis in order to preserve Syria's unity and achieve the aspirations of its people in freedom and dignity.
HE the Foreign Minister also met with the US Middle East peace envoy Frank Lowenstein and discussed latest political developments on the Palestinian arena.
HE the Foreign Minister said that the Israeli practices against religious sanctities especially Al-Aqsa Mosque, and the repression by the occupation forces against the Palestinians in the West Bank would obstruct efforts to bring about peace and stability in the region.
