Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry asserted to UN Libya envoy Martin Kobler that Egypt was closely following up the developments in Libya.
According to Foreign Ministry spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid, the foreign minister voiced concern about the failure of the Libyan parliament to convene in order to vote on constitutional amendments and the national accord government.
Shoukry highlighted the importance of national reconciliation in Libya and acting in compliance with the Skhirat agreement being the reference for all the parties concerned in the current transitional period, the spokesman said.
The meeting between Shoukry and Kobler discussed in detail the political and security developments in Libya and efforts by the Presidential Council of Libya to fulfill its tasks and stabilize the various Libyan institutions, he added.
